Sinopsis

It all started in the early 1980s with his parents dropping him off at his first roller rink where Cullen Cole got his first taste of disco, soul, and proto-house. From that moment on you could find Cullen at the rink, any time it was open, hanging around the DJ booth, talking music, taking it in, and discovering the art of mixing records. It wasn't long before he was Djing at the rink himself, as well as other local Atlanta clubs, where he was introduced to the original house sounds of Chicago and Detroit. Newly inspired by this fresh sound, he quickly found himself frequenting Atlanta hotspots like 688 Spring St., Velvet, Masquerade, The Warehouse and Sol Nightclub, where he bonded with fellow house music lover, and Chicago transplant Tommie Sunshine. This new friendship provided an opportunity to help open and run one of Atlantas top record stores dedicated to electronic music: Satellite Records. This new role only further fueled his desire to embrace all aspects of the electronic music scene. A breakthrough moment happened in September 1997 where he started his first residency, at the nationally famed MJQ Concourse along with Justin Chapman of KemeticJust called House of Jack. An ever-evolving night in the Atlanta scene, Cullen soon included local Atlanta DJs Kemit and Kai Alce to form the long-running Saturday night Deep. The rest is history. From there, Deep went on to have one of the most successful Saturday nights in the southeast, bringing in international talent and playing along side such greats as Marshall Jefferson, Derrick Carter, Theo Parrish, Moody Man, Larry Heard, Charles Webster, Brett Dancer, DJ Spinna, Peven Everett, Quest Love, Ron Trent, Steve "Silk" Hurley, Jazzanova, Chez Damier, Omar, Kerri Chandler, Rich Medina, Jovann, DJ Dizz, Tortured Soul, Boo Williams, Phil Asher, Comacho, and Dego {4Hero}. An open-minded and diverse DJ, Cullen's music is constantly innovating, presenting the classic sounds of Soul, Disco, and House to Atlantas dancefloors. Introducing another long-running club night to MJQ with his weekly "Chitterlings & Champagne" and the quarterly "Adult Skate" parties, Cullen Cole is one of the last original Jocks to play a strictly all-vinyl format on a rotary, Disco-original, Bozak console which only makes his stellar track selections and impeccable mixing all the more thicker and warmer to music lovers everywhere.Enjoy!
