It's a new week!  It's almost Mother's Day, so this week Jon and Peter have a very special guest.  And it was also recorded months ago, so it's also our oscars Special at the same time!  We start with the first line of the 2017 Best Picture winner Shape of Water and tell a mixed-up Oscar bait, convoluted tale that will keep you guessing!   Hooray for Mom's everywhere!!

WOW!!  We're back! And so is Caroline O'Brien this week.  It's Valentine's Day, can you believe it??  So we're telling a Valentine's Day story!!  What's our first line gonna be from?  We did Love Actually for Valentine's Day last year, so is it When Harry Met Sally?  Romeo + Juliet?? WOW!  It's another story day!!  So it's time for your favorite ear voices to come back and tell you a story.  But wait, this time, Jon and Peter are without Cameron, so the lovely and talented (and AUSTRALIAN) Caroline O'Brien (@Carolineactor) comes in to fill her shoes, and she does so quite nicely.  We start with the first line of Caroline's favorite book: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, and tell a story of nutrition bars, potentially talking animals, and lots of gym workouts.  Oh, and don't worry, there are plenty of Aussie jokes thrown in there for good measure.  

The FMS crew is back!! With a brand new episode for your earholes.  This week, in honor of (recently passed) Thanksgiving; Cameron, Jon and Peter tell a story starting with the first line of a classic Thanksgiving movie.  Ok we couldn't do that, so we did Pocahontas, which is somewhat Thanksgiving themed. OK, we couldn't do THAT, so we did the next best thing: Avatar!  That's right folks, this week we started with the highest grossing film of all time, and told a story about time traveling, fake veteran's hospitals, and of course, raspberry cronuts.  You won't want to not listen and disappoint all of your friends!

The story crew is back! After a brief hiatus Cameron, Jon and Peter are here shoving another completely improvised story down your throat.  This time we start with the first line (althought that is debated hotly in the opening) of the classic Hamlet allegory: The Lion King, and weave a tale of ghosts, pocket watches, barcaloungers, and angry grandpas.  It's a quick, easily digestable story, and a great way to start your day!

Can't get enough Oscars? Then this is the episode for you! This week Les, Peter, and Jon start with the opening line of last years best picture winner "Moonlight, and tell a weird wacky story of superhero origins, chemsitry, and forbidden love between a person and a non-human being (kind of like this years best picture winner "The Shape of Water" it turns out!!). Buckle your seatbelts becuase this story gets real weird, real quick.  We also have the return of crazy accents, like we saw in our last episode!  Make sure you listen so you're not left out when everyone else is discussing it around the water cooler.  Yeah, you too Janet.

It's Valentine's Day!  So it's the perfect time to tell a Romantic Comedy story.  And that's what Peter, Les, and Jon do this week.  They start with the opening line from Love, Actually and tell a story that involves a meet-cute, someone bitter about love, and the worst accents the team can muster (intentionally?).  This is a gut-buster folks; so grab some chocolates, grab some flowers, grab the one you love, and get ready to laugh your ass off.

We're Back!  After a brief hiatus Jon, Peter and Les return with an all new star-studded episode starting with a classic line from literature: "There was no possibility of taking a walk that day" the opening line of Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. That's right, it was Charlotte if you forgot which Brontë.  But the story that ends up being told is one that brings in another one of history's greatest pieces of art/fiction: The King of Queens.  A lot of stars show up too!  You don't wanna miss it.

As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster, is one of the most iconic lines in movie history as said by Ray Liotta in Goodfellas.  Here it leads us to a story of spiritualism, crystal balls, flash backs and many twists and turns. This week the Finish My Story Crew do a very special episode: taping live from a CRAZY location; and the story gets even crazier.  It starts with Jane Austen then turns into a Rocky-style training story about pandas, assassins, celebrity chefs, and Cholula.  Will Paula rise to the challenge?  Or will Bobby Flay beat her like he has so many?  

The first line of Melville’s Moby Dick is one of the most famous lines in all of literature.  This week, Jon, Les and Peter’s “Call me Ishmael” is one of the most star studded episodes of the pod so far, in a modern day telling of a hunt for the white whale.  Although there is no whale…  And its about The View.

George Orwell wrote 1984 about the coming authoritarianism of the modern age.  Les, Jon and Peter wrote “It was a bright cold day in April…” about plant people, sexuality, and overly competitive hobbyists.  Which story is more poignant today?  We can’t answer that.   But probably ours.
