The church was designed to do life together. But how do we do when we all have our own ideas of what relationship looks like? One of the things that is sure to surface in relationship is anger. We get frustrated, short tempered and even lash out when we handle anger wrong. So how does the church handle anger? As we look at Ephesians chapter 4, Paul is going to reveal how to see anger through Gods eyes and how we might live in the manner worthy of our calling.

Pastor Nathan Carroll continues to unpack the Apostle Paul’s picture of the church in Ephesians chapter 4, as we come to a point where the author puts a giant mirror before each of us.  The passage describes what being an apprentice of Jesus truly must look like - and what it truly requires of us. Do we have the courage to enter into this pursuit of becoming like Jesus?

The Apostle Paul believes that the purpose of church leadership is to help us become mature. This week Pastor Matt will be exploring what Paul means by maturity and what that understanding asks of us as individuals and collectively as we continue to journey through Ephesians chapter four.

This Sunday we dive into a passage in which Apostle Paul clearly describes both the purpose and the function of leadership in the church… and its quite different to what is normal for most of us.  On the basis of Paul’s teaching, Pastor Matt will be exploring what it might mean for the different functions of leadership to be fully expressed in our church and also the broader Christian church.

As we begin our wrestle in Ephesians 4, with what it means to live a life worthy of the calling we have received, the apostle Paul's first and biggest concern seems to be with the people in the church learning to relate well with each other. Find out what i means for us as a church and individuals to "make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit."

Recent Research indicates a growing group of people whoaredone with church but not done with Jesus. The church they aredonewith is not the church that Paul describes in the bookofEphesians. This week we will be catching a glimpse of theradicalvision that Paul had for the church on the basis of whatheunderstood as God’s primary purpose.

If we are going to be serious about following Jesus then we should ask this question, When is the last time you made religious people uncomfortable by the people you hang out with? The second biggest obstacle we need to overcome if we are to learn to love our neighbours is our fear . This Sunday we will explore what it means to get past our fears and learn to enjoy relationships with all kinds of people.

What if, when Jesus said to love your neighbour, he actually meant to love your actual neighbour?   Jesus gives a command that is so simple that most of us overlook it, but what if we didn’t? What if we actually took Jesus at his word? Not only would the world change, but we would be healthier, our neighbourhoods would have 60% less crime and our kids would be happier. What have we got to lose?

Our world is full of people who live under the weight of their past - past hurts, past disappointments, past failures.  As much as we try to concoct the illusion of “new beginnings”, left to our own devices, life always seems to cycle back around.  With Jesus’ resurrection, however, the same old, same old - ultimately exemplified in the universality of death - is turned on it’s head and the future is radically redefined.

As apprentices of Jesus, we are well aware at the broken condition of the world in light of God’s design and purposes. This is particularly evident when we consider this whole topic of sexuality. The question is - how do we (the church) function as a redemptive presence in the midst of this brokenness? Surely, as the presence of Christ in the earth, we should have the same approach that he took...

According to the bible, sexuality is lived out uniquely in two parallel walks of life - singleness and marriage. Strangely, our over-sexualized culture frowns on BOTH. Come and explore how Jesus, himself, initiates a radical understanding and legitimacy for both of these ways of life and what implications it has to our personal sexuality and the way that we foster community as a reflection of the Kingdom of God. Very few would argue against the fact that sexuality is tied (somehow) to love. Our in-built impulse towards intimacy (aka our human sexuality) is constantly driving us to draw near to others. Where does this drive originate from and what type of love will enable humans to flourish? Certainly our culture’s pigeon-holed view of sexuality as erotic cannot be the answer to the question - for we find our hyper-sexualized world to be one of marked isolation and relational breakdown.
