#042 The Connectors in English with a Story
25/04/2018 Duración: 11minToday I'll talk about the connectors, those words that help us to better structure what we say. Next, of course, we'll practice with an exclusive lesson from the point of view story. I'll just go ahead and start talking about connectors. But don't worry, I'm not gonna give any grammatical theory here :) As usual, I'll give you some examples and then you'll practice the connectors in context with the point of view story. Connectors are merely words that help structure what you say or write. Only by using a few connectors, you can significantly improve your fluency and expressivity. Let's take a look at some of the best-known connectors: When we want to add something, we use words like BESIDES, ALSO and MOREOVER. For example: "I don't want to go to the movies. Besides, it's late now." "I want a cake and an ice cream also." "He didn't like the birthday party. Moreover, he had to cancel his romantic date." (END OF THE EXTRACT). #040 Correction when Speaking English
12/04/2018 Duración: 14minHello, my dear students! I'm Georgiana, founder of SpeakEnglishPodcast.com. My mission is to help YOU to speak English fluently and confidently. Today I'll talk about correction when speaking English and how it affects your fluency. Later you'll practice your speaking with a funny mini story. Let's start! A student asked me this question not long ago: "Is it effective to be corrected when you speak?" Let's say you're an English student and you're trying to practice your speaking. Your first idea is to hire a tutor who will correct all your mistakes. At first, it seems like a great idea to be corrected. Every time you make a mistake, the tutor will tell you the correct pronunciation, and that's how you'll learn to speak correctly. Yet, based on my vast experience as an English teacher I must be honest with you and tell you that this approach isn't practical. In fact, overcorrection prevents you from developing fluency. #026 Start Running or Jogging in English Speaking Practice
14/11/2017 Duración: 14minHi! I’m Georgiana. Thanks for joining me for another episode of the Speak English Now podcast. In today's episode: I'm gonna talk about running or jogging. Next, through a mini-story lesson, you'll practice vocabulary, and above all, you'll improve your spoken English. Very well. Let's get started! How to Start Running I know it's tempting to just go out and run as fast as you can for as long as you can. However, keep in mind that if you want to run longer, and feel stronger, you'll need to be very patient. Experts recommend adding one minute of running for every four minutes of walking and gradually increasing your running time so that, eventually, you'll be running for twice the amount of time you spend walking. Your main goal is to get fit without getting hurt. Going way too fast, before your body's ready, is one of the most common causes of injuries. You can stay injury-free by gradually building up the time you spend walking and running, increasing the time by no more than 10 percent from week to week.

#024 Learn some Time Prepositions in English
31/10/2017 Duración: 13minHi, I am Georgiana, your English teacher and founder of SpeakEnglishPodcast.com. My mission is to help you to speak English fluently. Before we get started, go to my website SpeakEnglishPodcast.com to get the transcript. It’s free! Ok. Let’s start! Prepositions are short words (on, in, to, of) that usually stand in front of nouns, pronouns, or a group of nouns. They show direction, time, place, location, or introduce an object. We commonly use prepositions to show a relationship in space or time or a logical relationship between two or more people, places, or things. But today, we will focus on time prepositions. I don’t recommend memorizing the examples since that method doesn’t work. It’s always best to learn in context by listening repeatedly. Ok. Let’s start learning some time prepositions in English. We use ON before the days of the week:
