  • Criticizing liberal and conservative media; what might have been with Eric Swalwell; How #TimberUnity will change Oregon and the Northwest - Caleb Howe and Loren Hutnick - Ep 16

    13/07/2019 Duración: 01h10min

My first guest this week is my long time blogging buddy, Caleb Howe. I’ve always liked Caleb’s style of critiquing the mainstream media, a skill he’s parlayed into an editing position at Mediaite. He’s also a contributor at PJ Media, and a former editor at RedState. Caleb and I explore the state of media – both conservative and liberal. We also talk about bias problems in big tech and social media, and we talk about the 2020 democratic field. You can find Caleb on all the social medias, under the name Caleb Howe. Caleb stuck around for a bonus segment for our Patreon patrons, in which we break down the Eric Swalwell campaign. Oh, what might have been. This segment is available exclusively at patreon.com/BehindTheCurtainWithJeffReynolds. For a low monthly fee, you get lots of exclusive content you won’t find anywhere else. Plus, paid subscriptions allow me the resources to produce higher quality content. Please consider subscribing today. My local guest this week is a guy who may just end up permanently changi

  • #Oregon11, #TimberUnity, Forced Injections, leadership, and the grassroots army - Sen. Kim Thatcher and Capt. Greg Wooldridge - Ep 15

    04/07/2019 Duración: 01h11min

Hi, my name is Jeff Reynolds, and this is Episode 15 of the Behind the Curtain podcast. This week’s episodes ended up being a double shot of Oregon news, as much of what’s happening in Oregon has actually made national headlines. This week’s first guest is a hero to many Oregonians. A member of the #Oregon11, Senator Kim Thatcher experienced the nuttiest legislative session she’s ever seen in Salem. The story of the Republican walkout made national news as the Senators left the state in response to threats of arrest by Governor Kate Brown. She participated in two Republican walkouts to deny quorum so that no bills could be passed, in an attempt to get the Democrats to stop abusing their power. We talk about the walkouts, how they successfully killed several bad bills, and what to expect in the next legislative session. We also talk about two huge new grassroots movements that were spawned by bad legislation – the Slavic Activation movement to get more Eastern Europeans and Russians involved in the electoral p

  • Kemberlee Kaye on Oberlin College and intersectionality; Crossover episode with James Ball and Nick Prelosky of the Rational Republican Podcast - Ep 14

    13/06/2019 Duración: 01h26min

This week’s episodes is one of my favorites, featuring two discussions that are fun, informative, and thought provoking. It also features my first ever crossover episode, featuring other podcasters in a joint effort. First though, a note on my recording schedule. With the advent of summer and the kids out of school, I’m finding the demands on my time at an all time high. I will continue to attempt a weekly show schedule, and starting this week, episodes will be released on Thursdays.  SO. This week’s first guest is another blogger friend of mine. We go way back, so we have a lot to talk about. Kemberlee Kaye is the Senior Contributing Editor of Legal Insurrection. We discuss the false racism charges that led to an $11 million fine against Oberlin College after a libel lawsuit, the newly formed Legal Insurrection Foundation to combat against the false information propagated by intersectionality and anti-zionist activists, and what President Trump has done to turn her from an enthusiastic opponent in the p

  • 2020 Democratic hopefuls, corrupt sex education curriculum, and searching for transportation solutions - Kira Davis and John Ley - Ep 13

    23/05/2019 Duración: 01h29min

Welcome in to Lucky Episode Number 13 of the Behind the Curtain podcast. I’m your host, Jeff Reynolds. This week I talk to two very involved activists who focus a lot of their energy on local politics, while maintaining a national perspective. My first guest is mom, activist, writer, and podcaster extraordinaire, Kira Davis. My buddy Kira and I go way back to the early days of the Tea Party, blogging, and surviving the Kruiser Kabana days. She recently earned a position as roving editor of RedState, along with co-hosting the Smart Girls Politics podcast with April Gregory. Kira and I talk about her new position at RedState, the state of conservative media – a favorite topic of mine – and her deep dive into the comprehensive sex education curriculum in California, and her organizing efforts to fight back. We also poke fun at the 2020 field of Democratic presidential hopefuls, just for fun. You can find Kira on Twitter at twitter.com/realkiradavis. Also, be sure to follow her on RedState.com, and subscribe to t

  • Fraud and corruption in government minority contracts, and the Oregon Senate walkout - Ralph Taylor and Sen. Dennis Linthicum - Ep 12

    15/05/2019 Duración: 01h09min

Hello and welcome in to Episode 12 of the Behind the Curtain podcast. I’m your host, Jeff Reynolds. This week I feature two interviews with folks who thrust themselves into the arena to expose massive fraud and corruption in government. My first guest is Ralph Taylor. Ralph is the plaintiff in a federal court case that currently sits waiting approval of cert at the Supreme Court. His case blows the lid off massive corruption in the awarding of federal contracts to minority owned businesses. He demonstrates how thousands of Caucasians may have been granted such contracts, how his DNA test that shows some African and Hispanic blood qualified him for minority status at the state level but not the federal level, and how some Indian tribes are granting tribal membership without having to prove a certain percentage of Native American blood. Somewhere Elizabeth Warren is drooling at the possibilities. Quick note: no bonus segment this week for Patreon, but you really should go check out previous recordings. There’s

  • Conservative Media, Portland in Crisis, and Elites Ignoring the People - Paula Bolyard and Angela Todd - Ep 11

    08/05/2019 Duración: 01h24min

Right off the bat I want to apologize for not dropping this episode last Wednesday. There were a string of scheduling snafus, and I personally had a hellish week dealing with in laws in the hospital, insurance claims, and all sorts of other time sucks. Thanks for sticking with the Behind the Curtain podcast. This week’s episode is absolutely worth the wait. So this week, I have two powerful and thoughtful women on my podcast.  My first guest is my good friend and boss, Paula Bolyard. Paula is the Managing Editor for PJ Media, where I frequently contribute columns. We talk about the evolution of center right media, the continued need to provide an alternative to the biased mainstream media, and what the future might hold. Paula stuck around for our bonus segment exclusive for our Patreon patrons, talking always trumpers, never trumpers, and Trump Train 2020. Hint: Jen Rubin and Bill Kristol made it into our discussion. You can follow Paula on Twitter at @pbolyard.  This segment and other exclusive co

  • Tenth Anniversary of the Tea Party, and Local Political Shenanigans - Brad Marston and Marty Heyen - Ep 10

    24/04/2019 Duración: 01h29min

Thanks once again for joining me this week for Episode 10 of the Behind the Curtain Podcast. This is our 11th episode, but it’s only Episode 10, because we had a bonus track last week. Gonna need to talk to the boss about the math here. Anyway, you really should check out the two episodes last week if you haven’t already. This week’s episode features a discussion about the history and future of the American Tea Party Movement, and another about the seedy and seamy side of local politics. Both guests show that all politics is local. My first guest is my good friend Brad Marston. Brad co-founded Four Tier Strategies, a political consulting firm, after being a founding organizer of the 2009 Boston Tea Party. Brad and I go way back to the founding of the American Tea Party movement. April 15 marked the ten year anniversary of the explosion of the movement into American politics. Brad and I talk about the massive impact we had, where the movement is today, how it coexists with the Trump presidency, and where we go

  • Kyle Reyes on the culture of today's politics; Jonathan Lockwood and Ben West on being gay and conservative in Oregon - Ep 9

    17/04/2019 Duración: 01h16min

This week’s episode features not two, but three conservative firebrands who take an aggressive approach to getting their message out.  My first guest is Kyle Reyes, who founded Whiskey Patriots and serves as the spokesman for Law Enforcement Today. I first came across Kyle in 2018 when I wrote about his high school alma mater refusing to let him speak at a dedication ceremony for a new memorial at the school, for the sin of being conservative. Kyle has a large national following, and the school squandered an opportunity for wide positive news coverage, because the students supposedly would be afraid of the mere presence of a conservative. Kyle and I talk about the current state of affairs in our country, what the organized Left is doing to undermine our society, and the lies that propel the movement to tear down America.  Kyle also recorded a bonus segment exclusively for our Patreon patrons. He gives us even more conservative red meat, expanding on the theme of electing more people at all levels of

  • BONUS - Interview with Kim Sordyl, formerly of the Oregon Secretary of State's office

    16/04/2019 Duración: 27min

While I was at the Dorchester Conference over the weekend, I had the opportunity to interview Kim Sordyl. She was appointed by Oregon Secretary of State Dennis Richardson to be his representative to the Oregon Board of Education. Kim is an activist and mom who has done battle with Portland Public Schools to force more transparency and more protection for abused kids. Kim resigned from her position at the Secretary of State's office on Friday, April 12, and has some very disturbing reasons why. She and I peel back more layers of the onion, and she makes some very pointed accusations about the new Secretary of State, Bev Clarno. We also discuss how administrators and the teachers unions conspire to protect teachers accused of abusing kids in Portland Public Schools. She also gave me a scoop about a paraeducator who is known to have molested a disabled child, based on a six figure settlement paid out by PPS, and will be back in the classroom very soon with other disabled children. Meanwhile, as sex abuse reports

  • Public Sector Union abuse and intimidation - with Rebecca Friedrichs and Aaron Withe - Ep 8

    10/04/2019 Duración: 01h11min

Welcome in to Episode 8 of the Behind the Curtain Podcast with Jeff Reynolds. This week’s episode features two guests who have made national news by standing up to the public sector unions. Both guests dovetail with my book, Behind the Curtain, because they examine the tactics and funding of the extreme left that few people get to see. By taking on the powerful and corrupt public sector unions, they expose themselves to all manners of bullying, abuse, and intimidation. My first guest is Rebecca Friedrichs, a teacher with a 28 year career in California. Rebecca recently published a book about her experiences fighting the California teachers unions that saw her come to the very brink of going down in Supreme Court history before the unfortunate early demise of Justice Antonin Scalia. The book relays Rebecca’s testimony, along with the testimony of over 50 teachers that she interviewed to give a broad look at how teachers unions betray their members. It’s called Standing Up To Goliath: Battling State and N

  • Stacey Lennox and Karen Darnell - Ep 7

    03/04/2019 Duración: 01h13min

Welcome in to Episode 7 of the Behind the Curtain Podcast with Jeff Reynolds. This week, both my national guest and my guest from Oregon dig in to the same subjects I covered in my book, Behind the Curtain, and there’s tons of bonus content available to our Patreon patrons. We get into all sorts of shady funding, radical protest groups, and what they’re really up to. My first guest is my good friend, a writer for The Resurgent, a self described twitter big-mouth, a spirit animal, and the first person to refer to me as a menace. It’s an inside joke. Anyway, her name is Stacey Lennox, and she’s gone down similar research rabbit holes I did to find out who’s coordinating and funding the student walkout to protest climate change, along with a bunch of other radical campaigns. You can find Stacey on twitter at @ScotsFyre. Stacey also co-hosts the Game On radio show on KLRN Radio on Sunday nights, and regularly appears on the podcast for my guest last week, @TheLoftusParty.  In the bonus segment – exclusively

  • Michael Loftus and Denise Quinn - Ep 6

    27/03/2019 Duración: 01h04min

Hey everybody! Thanks for checking out Episode 6 of the Behind the Curtain Podcast with Jeff Reynolds. I think you’re really going to find this episode entertaining, and there’s tons of bonus content available to our Patreon patrons. My first guest is a TV writer, actor, and stand-up comic, Michael Loftus. Michael is currently on tour with his comedy troupe, The Deplorables. It’s such a small world sometimes in politics. I first became aware of Michael on the TV series, The Smoking Gun Presents the World’s Dumbest Criminals. Then, I had the privilege of hanging out with him two years ago at CPAC, and only then realized what a conservative he had become. We talk about the Mueller investigation, the state of entertainment and the media, how conservatives can survive, and what he’s doing to fight back against the Hollyweird liberal bias. This was a fun conversation, chock full of insight and humor. Michael Loftus is all over social media, and you can find his comedy clips everywhere. Find him on Facebook, Twitte

  • Kimberly Morin and Jeff Kropf - Ep 5

    20/03/2019 Duración: 58min

Welcome in to Episode 5 of the Behind the Curtain Podcast with Jeff Reynolds. Once again, this episode is packed with all kinds of extra content. My first guest is my long time friend, Second Amendment activist, and all around bad ass, Kimberly Morin. Like me, Kimberly went from completely uninvolved in politics in 2008 to becoming a serial activist. Because of this activism, she was targeted by the Left, and decided she needed to protect herself. But she didn’t just buy a gun and lock it away. She’s the founder and board member of the Women’s Defense League of New Hampshire. She’s also NRA certified as an instructor in Basic Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Personal Protection in the Home, Chief Range Safety Officer, and Refuse To Be A Victim. She has taught hundreds of women to safely and accurately shoot. Kimberly has spent thousands of hours researching and writing as an investigative journalist as well as blogger extraordinaire. Basically, I just spin her up and let her rant about the Left’s constant push to remo

  • Gabriella Hoffman and Josiah Underwood - Ep 4

    13/03/2019 Duración: 01h12min

Welcome in to Episode 4 of the Behind the Curtain Podcast with Jeff Reynolds. Once again, this episode is packed with all kinds of extra content. I didn’t necessarily plan it this way, but this week’s episode has a Second Amendment and outdoor conservation theme. My first guest is a conservative millennial, which may seem like a contradiction in terms. Her name is Gabriella Hoffman, and she has a fascinating story to tell. The daughter of refugees from the former Soviet Union, Gabriella is all about the freedoms afforded by the United States of America. A prolific writer, Gabby’s articles have appeared at The Resurgent, Field & Stream, Yahoo! News, and many other outlets. You really also should check out her podcast, the District of Conservation. She and I talk about a conservative message on conservation that can work, the importance of the second amendment, and the evils of socialism. You can follow Gabriella on Twitter at @Gabby_Hoffman. Her website is www.gabriellahoffman.com.  Gabriella also rec

  • Stephen Kruiser and Justin Brecht - Ep 3

    06/03/2019 Duración: 01h24min

Episode 3. Hey everyone, just a quick note. I meant to get this episode out last week, but I encountered audio difficulties and then went to CPAC, so my travel schedule didn’t allow me to publish this episode. Going forward we will continue to publish every Wednesday. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Please forgive the less than stellar audio, but we did the best we could. I wanted to publish this anyway, because it’s a very important episode. So, Thanks for checking out this week’s Behind the Curtain Podcast with Jeff Reynolds. This episode is packed with all kinds of extra content. This week, my first guest is my long time friend, conservative activist and stand up comedian, Stephen Kruiser. He’s written a couple of books, Straight Outta Feelings, and Don’t Let The Hippies Shower. Both are available on Amazon. Stephen and I discuss his religious conundrum, what he’s got coming up in stand up, and how he left conservative activism without regret. This is a MUST LISTEN. If you’re not following Step

  • Ep. 2 - Best selling author Matt Margolis and Oregon State Rep. Mike Nearman

    20/02/2019 Duración: 01h21min

Thank you for joining me for this week’s installment of the Behind the Curtain podcast with Jeff Reynolds. This week, I speak with best selling author Matt Margolis. He’s written two books so far, Worst President in History, and The Scandalous Presidency of Barack Obama. His third book, Trumping Obama, comes out in July 2019. We discuss living on a vineyard, the book writing process, his initial skepticism of Donald Trump, and what his big beef is with Barack Obama. Follow Matt on Twitter at @MattMargolis. You can order his books at his Amazon author page here. The second segment is with Oregon Representative Mike Nearman, Republican from Polk County. We discuss the Democratic supermajorities in both houses of the Oregon legislature, what leverage Republicans might have to slow down the freight train of bad bills, and the Democrats’ desire to deindustrialize Oregon. Follow Mike on Twitter at @RepNearman.  Don’t forget to subscribe to my podcast, and if you like it, leave me a positive rating. The m

  • Ep. 1: Star Parker and Jonathan Lockwood

    13/02/2019 Duración: 01h12min

In my first segment, I talk with Star Parker, who hung out with me at the Oregon Freedom Fest to talk about her organization, The Center for Urban Renewal and Education. Star is a natural story teller and a very engaging guest. She talked frankly about her life prior to Christian conversion in which she used abortion like birth control, and her life after her conversion. She got a degree, she opened a business, she lost that business in the 1992 riots in LA, and she became a fierce advocate for welfare reform. She tells of the security threats she's faced for daring to challenge the liberal orthodoxy, she describes converting inner city pastors to free market ideals, she talks about biblical property rights, and she works tirelessly to eradicate the victimhood mentality. You can find Star on Twitter at @UrbanCure, on Facebook at www.facebook.com/UrbanCURE, and on the web at urbancure.org. For my second segment, I sat down with Jonathan Lockwood, Oregon's bomb-throwing Republican communications strategist. He
