Pilgrimage to The Seven Churches

The Seven Churches Visitation is a tradition that grew out of this time of prayer and adoration. At the conclusion of the Mass of the Last Supper (Holy Thursday), we remember when Jesus asked his disciples to stay and watch with Him while they were in the garden. This powerful journey we make with Jesus, in visiting 7 churches is a spiritual act of mindful watching is a sort of pilgrimage to various altars of repose, in different churches that correspond to each of the seven places, or stations, that were made by Jesus between the Last Supper in the Upper Room to His crucifixion on the cross. Peter Gallicantu Part I

Milk Grotto – Bethlehem
31/12/2020 Duración: 54minThis week Deacon Tom & Mary Jane Fox will take a virtual pilgrimage to Milk Grotto, not far from the Church of the Nativity and Manger Square in Bethlehem. Officially called Magharet Sitti Mariam or the Grotto of the Lady Mary, tradition holds that the Holy Family took refuge in this grotto (hollowed out of limestone) on their way to Egypt as they were fleeing the Slaughter of the Innocents. It is believed that while nursing the infant Jesus a few drops of Mary’s milk fell upon the yellowish-brown stone and turned it to white. During this program, you will learn more about this sacred destination and why it is frequented by new mothers and women who are trying to conceive.
