On November 14th, Jennifer Cohen, Athletic Director at the University of Washington fired football head coach Jimmy Lake after 13 games. The last time a coach at Washington had a shorter tenure was in 1956. Jimmy Lake, the successor to Chris Peterson, was supposed to pave the way for future Huskie’s glory. A reputation as being one of the top defensive coaches in college football was a young up-and-coming coach that should have cemented himself in Husky lore for years to come. That expectation came to a stunning halt after 13 games.  There is much to unpack with this bold decision. Was Coach Lake over his head or was this decision made way too hastily?
