KJT (Kanner-Jugendtelefon) is a counselling service for children, young people and parents in Luxembourg. They provide telephone counselling and online counselling via email and messaging, anonymously and free of charge, thanks to the work of trained volunteers. Carmen Weyer and Linn Frank from KJT joined Tom on The Breakfast Show this morning to talk about the work that the organization does and to share an open call for new volunteers KJT are currently recruiting new volunteers for the english language online help service. New volunteers will undergo a 70 hour training course that will begin in May. Suitable volunteers include anybody that is interested in helping children, adolescents and young adults as well as in psychological or pedagogical topics. Future volunteer counsellors should be psychologically resilient, be flexible in their thoughts and open-minded.
