Tom's guest this morning was dietician Diana Reid who came on the Breakfast Show to talk about a new series of online support groups for young people suffering with eating disorders. Diana is a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist and offers ersonalized medical nutrition counseling for individuals, couples and families in Luxembourg. According to Diana there has been an increase in the number of cases of eating disorders in young people since the pandemic. Eating disorders can take many forms such as binge-eating, bulimia and anorexia and can manifest in young people for various reasons including genetic dispositions and environment and social inflences. These online group sessions will provide a safe space for young people to discuss their eating disorders without judgement and in collaboration with others that are going through similar struggles.
