Passerell commenting the EU migration and asylum pact

Sinopsis

On Wednesday, the European Parliament approved the EU's migration and asylum pact which had been discussed for almost a decade. The aim of the pact is to reduce irregular migration in the EU, foster solidarity among the member states and accelerate procedures. The directive allows to introduce a pre-selection process on the border to quickly repel those people whose request for asylum is unlikely to be accepted. The pact has been largely criticised. In Luxembourg, the human rights and refugee law association Passerell Asbl has been advocating against this law. In our interview, director Marion Dubois comments on this new legislation.
