When children have chronic or terminal illnesses, caregivers are called upon to provide a special level of care, communication and help with decision-making. But most of what we know about palliative care is based on hospice for adults. The Bridges Palliative Care program at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital is working to fill that information gap and provide what young patients and their families really need.
