Dr. Diana Sherifali is an associate professor at McMaster University’s School of Nursing and an expert in diabetes and aging. For those living with diabetes, be it type 1 or type 2, management and care can become more complicated with age. Every person, whether they have diabetes or not, faces new health challenges as they get older. For those with diabetes there is an added layer of complexity that must be considered, especially if people reach an age where they are no longer able to care for themselves.
