SapSap is a culinary startup that features traditional Laotian dishes fused with “Wisconsin fat kid palate,” according to head chef and founder Alex Hanesakda. He’s a Laotian refugee whose father fought alongside US troops in the Vietnam War. Born in a refugee camp in Thailand, he came to Burlington, Wisconsin, with his family.
