This is the first of a two-part interview with Mars One candidate Dianne McGrath. She's currently among the choice 100 in the world who will potentially be selected into a team of 4 people for the first one-way trip to Mars in 2026. Dianne’s vast experience and incredible work diversity equip her with the skills and demonstrated ability to learn that make her the ideal astronaut candidate. She's an active part of the academic community, speaking in Universities and TED Talks on topics from politics to life sciences, and is currently a Higher Degree by Research Master of Engineering (Environmental Engineering) student at RMIT University. She also likes to run marathons by the way! In this episode we discuss firstly about Dianne's role models, what kicked off her signup for the one-way mission to Mars and why she made the choice.
