This is the second part of our interview with mountaineer Gerardo Lopez. Gerardo started climbing at the age of 12 and since then he has travelled around the world, visiting almost 90 countries and climbing most of highest mountains in America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania. His most notable achievement to date has been summiting Mount Everest that he accomplished in 2009 becoming, at the age of 30 only the 26th person from Mexico to do so. Over the next year or two, Gerardo would like to take on K2 in Pakistan and do an unsupported crossing in Antarctica. In this episode we discuss his training and his diet for climb's like Everest, how much experience is needed and most notably his current preparations to climb the world's most dangerous peak and the pinnacle of mountaineering, Pakistan's K2.
