Then, she answers questions from Women & Money listeners June, Sally, James, Sissy, Gina, Lela, and Judy. They ask: I still don’t have a job and student loans are coming due on September 30, 2020. Do you have any suggestions? I have an eight-month emergency fund. Should I start paying my student loans now, even if the moratorium is still in effect? I’m in a public student loan forgiveness program, will I be given credit towards the 10 years of payments, even though I haven’t had to make payments? I have not been able to get through to the unemployment office since I was laid off in March. Did I blow my shot at getting the $600 per week Federal benefit? I have no debt and a 12-month emergency fund. My employer is stopping withdrawal of the payroll tax in September, 2020. What should I do with the extra money?
