    Stand By Me - A Tribute To My Father, Ben E. King   On the heels of the song's performance at Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex's royal wedding, the recording of "Stand By Me" was 6 months in the making. Who could have known that these two spectacular events would occur simultaneously. Originally recorded in 1960 by legendary singer-songwriter Ben E. King, "Stand By Me"  has been covered by more than 400 artists, from Otis Redding to John Lennon to Tracy Chapman. In 2012 it was estimated that the song's royalties had topped $US 22.8 million, making it the sixth highest-earning song at that time. Then in 2015 King's original version was inducted into the National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress, as "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant", just under five weeks before his death.
