Separation of Church and State: Baptists were the driving force behind the First Amendment. With power the State has historically persecuted dissenting religious thought. Each person is able to respond to God with coersion. The Church should not impose its agenda on others by coersion. We must use the weapons of the Spirit, not the sword.
