Episodios

  • Bruce McIntosh of Justa Runners

    14/04/2020 Duración: 39min

#65 - Bruce and I did cross interviews on each others' shows. It was a lot of fun! Bruce has a great show all about and for regular runners. He's been doing it quite a while and has such a friendly, easy-going way that talking to him was sitting down having coffee with a friend! I think you'll enjoy his running tales! Please check out Bruce's podcast as well. • Race Cancelled? Do It Anyway! And Part 2 Strength Training

    07/04/2020 Duración: 36min

#64 - All of our races are cancelled right now. If we are fortunate, we've been given the choice to do them as virtual races and are able to get out there and race by ourselves. I talk about how my latest 10k served as more of a healing race for me than anything and I explain why. In the second half, I give some continuing information on strength training, and much of it you can do at home, no weights needed! I'm not going to bombard you with Coronavirus episodes, there are enough of those out there and to be honest, when it's all over, you won't want to hear them again, so I'm trying to go light on them, giving enough information as needed, but not going overboard. For all information and to get in touch with me, the website is www.martharunstheworld.com and me email is martharunstheworld@gmail.com

  • Ultrarunner Podcast with Eric Schrantz

    31/03/2020 Duración: 40min

#63 - If you've been listening to running podcast for any amount of time, you know about this podcast. Eric was on the forefront of running podcasts. Long before most of us were doing, he was publishing his superb program. I consider URP to be one of the best. He works hard to make it that way and it shows. Even if you aren't an ultrarunner or even a trail runner, you should listen to it because the stories are human stories, and we can all relate to the energy of the human spirit. For all contact information, please go to our website www.martharunstheworld.com to contact me with comments questions or any future show suggestions, please email me at martharunstheworld@gmail.com

  • Whole 30 and Coastal Trail Runs Headlands race report

    18/02/2020 Duración: 20min

#57 - I could have titled this episode why holding for Tech Support is harder than going across country in a covered wagon. HAHA! I strive to publish episodes on time and sometimes I have to deal with technical issues that can only be solved by talking with Dell tech support for over an hour. So, when I recorded this episode, I was a bit frazzled. That's a bit of detail, I know, but it is all part of life. As is races. I talk about the Coastal Trail Runs 5 mile race I did and I celebrate every runner's choice to run what they want. Also in this episode is my January Whole30 experiment thoughts. I learned a lot from it and I'm glad I did it. Although almond milk is no substitute for half and half in coffee. Just saying. If you have comments or future show ideas, please get in touch with me at martharunstheworld@gmail.com if you want to check out the show notes or any past shows or links for Patreon or anything else, please go to the website at www.martharunstheworld.comMartha Runs the World webs

In this week's episode, I give many ideas how to switch it up and make it enjoyable. #51 - You should be proud of what you do in running, regardless of distance or race, or even if you race! Love every step you take, even if there are those who take many more than you. Know that you are doing what you wish to do. You are enough! That is my message to every runner out there from ultra Monster to 5K Fanatic to Park Run Regular to Trail Run Casual. Do what you love and that is the ultimate prize! Too much of the time we are bombarded by memes and motivational posters telling us to do more, more, more! But it doesn't have to be that way. Be happy in the run you are in and that's all you need. Also, I talk about my adventures in the SF New Year One Day race that didn't turn out the way I planned, but I had a great time anyway!
