  • 16 Years Sober!

    15/06/2021 Duración: 25min

#126 - The best decision I ever made was to embrace sobriety. For too long I drank, a lot. It affected everything I did and if I had continued down that dark tunnel I might not be here today. In this week's episode, I talk about my drinking and sobriety and what it means in my running, my history and my life today. For all subjects talked about today, including the running news in Tales From the Trail, please go to my website: martharunstheworld.com to contact me, especially if you need help and want to be clean & sober, you can email me at martharunstheworld@gmail.com

I discovered Pete Peterson through a video he posted of his R3 in a running group and after looking at more of his videos, I wanted to have him on the show. His story is familial yet fascinating and will definitely inspire you to get out and create your own running adventure! For all information about Pete and everything talked about in Tales From the Trail, please go to the website: www.martharunstheworld.com to contact me, email me at: martharunstheworld@gmail.com

He also shares some of his most harrowing shooting sites, including filming during a lightening storm, while trying to take care of an aide station, while filming, during a lightening storm, after hiking 30 kilometers in. • An Unpopular Opinion, Maybe Two

    30/03/2021 Duración: 31min

#115 - Being an independent thinker means not sharing the same opinions as the crowd. In this week's episode, I share a couple adverse opinions I have as they relate to running. The first has to do with influencers. When did this group of not important people suddenly become important to runners? The second is the adoration of a handful of ultrarunners at the expense of others. I have a few more thoughts as well. I know that you, as MRTW listeners and being independent thinkers yourselves will appreciate where I go this week. Take a listen! For information on everything in this episode, including the website for the documentary Kaila and Rob Rhodes GoFundMe page, go to the website at: www.martharunstheworld.com If you have any questions, comments or suggestions for future shows, please email me at: martharunstheworld@gmail.com

  • Mightier Than Myth - Terry Fox

    09/02/2021 Duración: 25min

#108 - Who do you look up to for motivation in running? Terry Fox is the first person I think of. If you're a Canadian you know all about about. There isn't a Canadian alive who doesn't know who Fox is, he is a greater hero than even Wayne Gretzky, The Great One there. And with good reason. In the cold and dark of winter, it's good to hear about those heroes in history who blazed trails no one had before. Who were not afraid to go it alone. Who knew that failure might happen, but did it anyway. Terry Fox will forever remain one of the mightiest in running. For all links used in this episode and for more information about the Terry Fox Foundation, please visit the website at: www.martharunstheworld.com if you have comments, questions or ideas for future shows, please contact me at: martharunstheworld@gmail.com

  • Adwait Samant Runs A Lot of Miles!

    02/02/2021 Duración: 42min

#107 - There were a lot of great challenges that running race companies concocted to keep us runners active and engaged through 2020. One of them was through Coastal Trail Runs. it was the 100/30 Challenge. We runners had to finish 100 miles in 30 days and we'd receive a medal for every 100 miles we finished. Some of us we more than happy to get 100 miles done every month. But there were a few who went over and above. The runner who did the most was Adwait Samant, who blew everyone else out of the water! I was so impressed with his miles total that I knew I wanted him on the show. And he did not disappoint. His story is compelling and inspiring! For all info on this show, including one of Adwait's totals charts, please go to the website: www.martharunstheworld.com if you have any comments, questions or suggestions for future show ideas, email me at: martharunstheworld@gmail.com
