This week, instead of his usual weekly three mindful tips…Waylon is sharing three things he’s noticed (during his trip to Halifax to visit his Mama) that he has learned and been taught by his mom over the years. “There’s all these weird things that I do in my life and…sometimes I feel [self-conscious] about them. Like, why do I do these [weird] things? And then I see my mom do that thing…and there’s a moment of humor, and tenderness, and appreciation, and gratitude for the kind of parenting I had.” ~ Waylon Lewis Enlightened Society. She creates the thread of community wherever she goes. A connection with nature that is resilient.

    27/02/2023 Duración: 57min

Waylon talks with Glyphosate Girl Kelly Ryerson. We discuss the dangers of glyphosate, alternative healthy organic pesticides, and Monsanto. "When when glyphosate first came out, in those early days before it was an herbicide, it was actually used to clean  boilers—metal boilers and metal pipes because it could chelate minerals, bind them together. And then you could clean 'em out really easily. So now you apply this to the soil...and it's doing the same thing where it's chelating and binding minerals, making 'em bio-unavailable in our crops. And we wonder why we're all so nutrient deficient?!" ~ Kelly Ryerson

"I had been doing shamanic journeying on my own for about 10 years and I was out gardening one day and really annoyed. Totally annoyed by this one weed, right? Mugwort. Like, I wanted to kill it—to the point where I was almost ready to use [Monsanto's poison] Roundup, which is crazy.  So I decided to do a shamanic journey to see if I could talk to this plant and find out why it was so annoying. ...And that opened up a whole new world for me." ~ Maria Rodale

Parents, entrepreneurs, students, everyone?” Faith: “I think the thing that I’ve learned and I probably would’ve told myself 10 years ago is to try my best to get rest and create some level of balance. When I was young, I was vibrant and I was excited and things are popping…and…it’s hard to say no! And so I was probably saying ‘yes’ to way more than I should have said ‘yes’ to.”

  • 109. The Buddhist Approach to New Year's Resolutions.

    02/01/2023 Duración: 12min

Cheerful New Year! I send love and luck and healing and kindness and caring to you all, pass it on! May we all be genuinely happy, content, and full of benefit for others. For those of us who survived 2022 mostly intact, may we rest in gratitude—and share any kindnesses we have received, in this life, with others who have been made more vulnerable, this year. Support local, please. Boycott Amazon, please. Climate Change is here, and gathering power—please engage in micro and macro actions to reverse it, like protecting mature trees, going vegan, going zero-waste, offsetting your travel, and when you travel, supporting local. May this year help heal us, and bring us together, even as our very real differences continue to wake us up to important questions: can we continue to progress toward equality, and equity? Can we promote truth, not lies? Can we find respect for science, not “youtube research” and conspiracy theories? Can we feel our defeat, our cynicism, dig deep, and be the ones we have been waiting fo

  • 108. Waylon’s “3 Mindful Tips every Friday."

    30/12/2022 Duración: 15min

This week on Waylon’s “3 Mindful Tips every Friday”: Drama, Letting go isn't Dropping, & Equal Appreciation. Oh my! "Even if something is negative—negative is hard, it's scary—if we can be brave, if we can be open, if we can be vulnerable, if we can care...then we can actually become truly fearless. The Buddhist definition of fearlessness is not being without fear, but going through fear and actually relaxing and being comfortable. So drama, if it happens to us once in a while, is probably because we're surrounded by some neurosis. If it happens to us regularly, however, it is time to take some responsibility. Which is what we talked about last week. You can find all the videos on my new brand new YouTube channel." ~ Waylon Lewis

  • 107. A 20-second Holiday Meditation for Stress, Drama & Fear…all the ucky stuff.

    26/12/2022 Duración: 06min

Inside a new Walk the Talk Show conversation this week with Waylon Lewis: he shares a short, basic meditation that can be used during the holidays, or any big moments in our lives, to help with stress, anxiety, drama, fear, and all the ucky stuff. “If you do it all the time, your problems will be solved because you’ll turn into a Buddhist superhero—so watch out..! There’s no prerequisites to this meditation. There are meditations in Buddhism where it’s really important we do them in order, and we have some preparation and study. This one, however, is basic. That doesn’t mean it’s light. It’s quite powerful, but it’s basic, and you can do it at any moment.” ~ Waylon Lewis
