Richard is joined by Andy Benford, who after serving in the Navy on various Submarines for twenty one years, took a game idea that he developed originally in the 1970s and worked with Osprey Games to make it a reality in the form of They Come Unseen. It's a rare thing indeed that a designer takes their real world experiences and places it into their boardgame. Andy's story is fascinating from the very beginning from the original idea to the final product. He was a total delightful guest and we loved having him on the show. Richard is joined by Frank West, the creator of The City of Kings. A new game scheduled to be hitting Kickstarter in early 2017. Frank tells us about his self built monopoly type game he designed as a lad, we talk dating tips and hugely long sessions of Eclipse, playing Terraforming Mars and why not to email someone who triggers if they hear someone saying they are a wizard. We've spoken to those in the middle of Kickstarters, or prelaunch so we thought it was time to look at a post match analysis of what happens once the dust settles. Excuse the first of many football based puns. So it made sense to bring in Mark Pearson from The London Boardgame Company to tell us all about what happened after the campaign is closed and funded as well as some of his thoughts on the creative process itself.
