  • The Business of Being YOU

    24/11/2014 Duración: 59min

Being you. Nobody can do it better. Oh sure, you might think you'd be better in business if you were someone else. With someone else's education, someone else's money, or someone else's connections. But that is not necessarily true. You are right where you are today because you are ...you. Learning to embrace our best attributes (and forgiving some of our worst) allows us to be fully present in our business experiences, offers us more authentic relationships and stops the dreaded "If I was someone else..." head trip that can sabotage our success. There is no one better to help us with this lesson than the amazing Jess Weiner. A friend and colleague, Jess is dynamic at giving us the gift of loving ourselves.

  • Teach your babies to be bankable!

    18/11/2014 Duración: 01h01s

Our little ones are BIG SPENDERS! Incredible as it seems, American children spend over 4 billion dollars of their own money each year. Yet how many of them know how to make a savings deposit, budget their money or plan for long-term goals? With so much cash to spend, kids aged 8-12 have grown into one of the most sought-after consumer markets in the country. Children are inundated with ads, pressured by over-indulged peers, and are even being wooed by credit card companies. Turn those headlines of WOE into headlines of WEALTH Economic downturns. Mortgage meltdowns. Plummeting stock markets. In every newspaper and TV sound bite, we are reminded of the dire financial challenges the world is facing… the world our children will soon be inheriting. Today perhaps as never before, it is critical that our sons and daughters develop sound money management habits, and the skills they need to build a secure future. It has been said that those who do not learn from the past are destined to repeat it. Well, here’s a ne

  • The magic "fix it" ingredients

    11/11/2014 Duración: 01h09s

Laughter and play keep the Bogey man away. In my house both music and humor are a PRIORITY. Our family has certain rules that we abide by and they've worked well for us on most days. 1. If there is music playing, SING. My family knows that there is no way to get out of this one. Unless you are too sick to join in, it's expected of everyone in the room. Music heals and nourishes. Singing or playing an instrument is one of the few activities that involves using the whole brain. It is intrinsic to all cultures and has surprising benefits not only for learning language, improving memory and focusing attention, but also for physical coordination, brain development and pain management. 2. Have a sense of humor about yourself. We make fun of each other out of love, and when this happens, we CHOOSE to enjoy the moment, rather than take offense. I tend to mix my metaphors... ((often))... and my family knows that when mommy messes up, it's a great opportunity to howl with laughter. Studies show that when laughter is

  • Cultivate Your Inner Celebrity

    04/11/2014 Duración: 01h05s

A Surprise Musical Guest and Live Appearance I saw him perform live and I was so taken with his charisma, talent, dedication and commitment to his performance that I made a decision --- right then and there. I was going to ask if I could interview him. Nothing was going to stop me from getting back stage. I told the guard "I am press. I have a show on iHeart Radio." I was immediately introduced to the manager of the band who looked at me with probing eyes. Before I could change my mind, I began talking AS IF I was worthy of the current moment. Inside my head, I heard... "Ally, Are you NUTS??" Before I could talk myself out of it, I heard myself say that I loved the show and wanted to interview the lead singer. Within moments I found myself standing in his trailer looking at him face to face. GULP. I asked and he said yes. Since it is a surprise, I will NOT reveal who will be performing live in the studio with me until the show today. (Sorry, but you are going to have to TUNE IN to hear who my surprise mus

  • Confessions of a Welfare Mother

    21/10/2014 Duración: 59min

The real definition of welfare: The health, happiness, and fortune of a person or group of persons. It's no surprise that this country is very much divided about the effectiveness of this government program that is designed to promote the basic physical and material well-being of people who are in need. We ALL have opinions... and yet... unless we've personally been on welfare, it's not a fair opinion to have. Who you may be calling "A Lazy Welfare Mother"... Most women don’t CHOOSE to be on food stamps. They don't CHOOSE to be poor, have several children fathered by different men, or be publicly scrutinized by society. Most people want a job. They want to go out and be productive so that they can earn a living, support a family, and have hope for a more prosperous future. They want what YOU have. So... then... (perhaps) The real solution lies WITH US. I believe that people who are in need of government assistance just need to be lifted up. Somewhere in their journey, they were made to believe that they

  • Astrology to Identify Your Gifts

    05/09/2014 Duración: 59min

The best way to predict the future it to create it ourselves...but it couldn't hurt to have a hint or two about which path we should take...   If you are like me, hard work comes fast- but slow results make you batty. Often, I have found myself shaking my head to the universe begging for a sign that my persistence and perseverance will result in some sort of pay off. Ever feel that way? Am I on the right path? Should I try going down that path instead? What am I missing?   In passed shows we have talked about how we can cut out 80% of our competition just by outlasting everyone else. A shocking 90% of first time home-based businesses fail in the first year because of the inclination to throw in the towel a little too early.   It wasn't too long ago I ran into my friend, Heidi Rose Robbins- a gifted astrologer and empowering group leader for women. She must have sensed my restlessness because she intuitively offered me a "hint" into my future- the very prophecy that I had been aching for: "You are on the right

  • Communication and Collaboration

    05/09/2014 Duración: 58min

A fantastic show with 2 fantastic women: Wokie Nwabueze, who will soon be a fellow host with me here on my previous network with her new show Stop Fighting! Make Peace at Home, AND Kelly McCormick, author of the new book, OutSell Yourself: Go from Hello to Sold with Ethical Business & Sales Techniques. This generation of small business owners has a new selling style. Its called "recession selling" and it refers to the way consumers have responded to the unsteadiness in the economy. What kind of seller are you? Does it match the way you think as a consumer? Do you upsell yourself on a product or service with lots of options or do you pass on the extras simply because times appear to be tough, and instead purchase a new product only out of sheer need?

  • Empower Yourself, Empower the World

    04/09/2014 Duración: 58min

Moms are great with scheduling in time for everyone else. How about a little "YOU" time? Worried it might take away from the time you've scheduled to save the world? You are not alone. As moms we are often driven to pursue definitions of what a good mother looks like to the point that we completely lose ourselves in the process. I am inviting Patty Lennon back to the show this week because she is a lot like you. She is a mom who thrives on making an impact on the world, connecting with other women, and giving herself the life she's always wanted. Patty will be joining us this Friday to talk to us about creating a virtual home for Moms like you who are ready to move up on the priority list - by designing a life that honors you as an individual. READ MORE ABOUT PATTY LENNON HERE--> If you are ready to fall as deeply in love with your life as you are with your children, this is the show for you! • I am Not a Bully, I am Just A Mom

    04/09/2014 Duración: 59min

If you know a child bully, look closer at where they maybe learning their behavior. The apple never falls far from the tree, which is why moms and kids alike are tormented. It's bad enough that kids bully other kids. But look out for another rascal on the playground. Do you know her? THE BULLY MOM aka The Monster in The Minivan. Either you've seen her terrorize others, or she's come after you personally. She's always got a juicy rumor to share about another mom, or worse: a child. She's the one who made you feel bad because you couldn't breast-feed.... or labeled you the "boob Nazi" because you dared to nurse in public. You may have a regular group of moms in your play-date, but she's always "forgetting" to invite certain women. Or is it more than 1 mom? Perhaps an entire group of culprits are making you sweat each time you see them. Bullies tend to flock together, excluding the new mom on the playground, or flat out ignoring the mom who just moved into the area hoping to make some new friends and simply "fit
