Everyone is naturally inclined to be proud, but humility and mutual submission should be evident in the lives of all believers. With certain "Blind Spot" indicators to alert our surroundings for church unity, there is one Blind Spot that is readily unrecognized - Pride. In today's message, we will follow the Apostle Peter to learn about this silent and deadly "Blind Spot" - Pride. Pride must die in you, or nothing of heaven can live in you….. Blind spots can kill the Unity of the Church: Self-reliance Inward focus Conflict resolution Busyness Material affluence Perfectionism Blind Spot Indicator: 1. A Big Heart… Do you think you have a Big heart? 2, Firm Stance. . . What would it take for you to stop following, Jesus? 3, Warm embrace... Conclusion: If you don’t build up a habit of putting Jesus first, you won’t be able to be in the Lord when conflicts arise!

“Blind spots” are areas that you cannot see but should. And they’re not just physical but also spiritual. We all have them, both individually and corporately as a church. The effects of not dealing with our blind spots can be devastating. But God has a plan to deal with them. For 6 weeks we will look at CLC’s blind spots (self-reliance, inward focus, conflict resolution, busyness, material affluence, and perfectionism) and learn what the Bible teaches to correct them.

Gift giving does not end after Christmas. We have a God who is loving and generous year round. Our Heavenly Father who gave the world His Son Jesus offers the Gift of New Beginnings to anyone interested, anytime, anywhere. That is the great hope we have in Jesus Christ. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" (2 Cor 5:17)

PRAY: Ask God what gift you can give Jesus this season that would bring Him honor and glory. Take note of what comes to mind as you pray. RESPOND: Write on a piece of paper what gift to Jesus comes to mind. Place your piece of paper in one of the gold gift boxes provided. Take your gift box home as a reminder of your gift in response to God’s ultimate gift of love to you in Christ Jesus.

Discipleship to Jesus includes both a clarification of your calling AND a formation of your character. V-I-M (vision, intention, means) V - Vision Do you have a vision for Jesus and His Kingdom? Are you bought in? Do you believe who Jesus says he is? Do you believe that He is worthy to be followed? Do you believe that he is worth being ALL IN for? I - Intention Have you intentionally made the decision to follow Jesus? If not, what is holding you back? (Procrastination, busyness, fear?) M - Means How do we actually follow Jesus and learn to be like him? What steps can I take? Spiritual Disciplines (non-exhaustive) - Reading/Studying the Bible - Prayer - Fasting - Worship - Silence and Solitude - Serving and Generosity - Simplicity So will you accept His invitation? Will you say yes to whole-life, all-in discipleship to Jesus today?

Repent = To turn around Do you believe that Heaven is better than this world? Kingdom of God: Where God is present and His people are doing His will. Who is Jesus to you? Do you truly believe that He is good news? NBA Player Zaza Pachulia: "Nothing easy! Nothing easy!"

"Repent for the Kingdom of God is here" illustrates Jesus' intention for us to change our inner self, our old ways of thinking, to confess our sins so that our lives are in sync with God's purpose. In the story of the demon possessed man, Jesus models this kingdom living. Come to Sunday service and hear the challenge, learn how to go the extra mile, and proclaim that Jesus has come to seek and save the lost!
