Sinopsis

A (mostly) biweekly review of every episode of Bewitched. Austin is a public librarian in Georgia who used to skip school to watch reruns of Bewitched, who thinks Aunt Clara may be the most endearing character to appear on any TV show, and who absolutely still practices his own twitch in the mirror every day.

Episodios

  • 013: Love is Blind

    31/05/2017 Duración: 20min

Holy guest stars, Batman! The caped crusader and movie star (nearly) fall in love in Morning Glory Circle. Samantha invokes the name of Beelzebub, and Austin manages to make it through the whole episode without once referencing the Muppets. (How many other IPs can I cram into this description to get that delicious SEO?) (As many as it takes, Gilligan...) Follow us on Twitter: @NoseTwitch

  • 012: And Something Makes Three

    23/05/2017 Duración: 47min

Is this still a Bewitched podcast? Somehow we get to talking about Prometheus, The Brady Bunch, and Mad About You, so maybe not. Austin is joined by Nat to discuss body shaming, gender identity, and the relative importance people with uteri should or should not place on being able to give birth -- because this show, this widely beloved television show, will not let up. Austin manages to get through the whole episode without saying "Abnys Kravitz." Be proud of the small accomplishments. Follow us on Twitter: @NoseTwitch

  • 011: It Takes One to Know One

    15/05/2017 Duración: 40min

If you thought Bewitched was just a formulaic sitcom from the 1960s, let me point out to you that this episode includes a white Bengal tiger rug, sooooooooo. Austin goes over how to interact with restaurant staff and reminds you all not to be like Larry Tate. Follow us on Twitter: @nosetwitch EDIT: It's not a white Bengal tiger; it's a polar bear. I feel like such a fool.

  • 010: Just One Happy Family

    04/05/2017 Duración: 52min

Samantha's family grows ever so larger. It's time for Darrin (Donald? Dennis? Derrick?) to meet Maurice! Robby joins Austin to talk about this episode of Bewitched, which somehow turns into a meditation on what it means to have sexual chemistry.  Follow us on Twitter: @nosetwitch

  • 009: Witch or Wife

    27/04/2017 Duración: 37min

Endora's back!!! She's back and the world is richer for it. For the most part, Austin just wants to sit back and enjoy Agnes Moorehead's French, but there's other things to talk about, like Irene Vernon's Louise and Samantha's appearance in airplane windows. (Bewitched, guys. Can you even begin to believe it?) Follow us on Twitter: @nosetwitch

  • 008: The Girl Reporter

    18/04/2017 Duración: 57min

It would have been extremely fascinating for this "girl reporter" to have started interviewing Darrin only to get too curious about Samantha, but that's not what happens in this episode. Mostly what happens is Darrin drinks root beer & scotch, and Samantha makes an apple/banana cream pie. Really, the whole episode is about pairings that don't belong together. Austin and his guest Jillian discuss Bewitched's eighth episode, "The Girl Reporter," in which there are no reporters and barely any mention of journalism. Follow us on Twitter: @nosetwitch

  • 007: The Witches Are Out

    11/04/2017 Duración: 55min

Everyone's favorite aunt finally makes it on the show! Well, on the show that we're reviewing - not on the show that is this podcast. That would be incredible, but communing with the deceased is not really within our scope. Austin and Peter return to talk about civil disobedience and the gossip of older relatives. Austin finally remembers to remind you in the show to follow us on Twitter. Speaking of which: Follow us on Twitter: @nosetwitch

  • 006: Little Pitchers Have Big Fears

    04/04/2017 Duración: 01h01min

The most impressive part of this episode is the deftness with which Samantha runs circles around everyone else. Austin is joined by his husband Peter to talk about overprotective parents, magical gestures, and just how very, very into each other the adult characters are.  Follow us on Twitter: @nosetwitch

  • 005: Help, Help, Don't Save Me

    28/03/2017 Duración: 43min

We're definitely talking about Caldwell's Soup in this episode and that should absolutely not be misconstrued to mean any other soup brand you might think it means. We're making the youth soup-conscious! Austin and Sam talk about horse collars (not yokes) and the way Samantha and Endora pose to fly away.  Follow us on Twitter: @nosetwitch

  • 004: It Shouldn't Happen to a Dog

    21/03/2017 Duración: 54min

Apparently, "It Shouldn't Happen to a Dog" is also the name of a movie from 1946, but even with that knowledge, Austin and his guest Samantha cannot figure out why it's the title of this episode. Buckle in, everyone; this one's a pretty bad ride.  Content Warning: Discussion of sexual harassment and assault Follow Nose Twitch on Twitter: @nosetwitch

  • 003: Mother Meets What's-His-Name

    14/03/2017 Duración: 01h09min

Okay, but what actually is his name? Austin returns with his guest, writer Robby Bailey (@robBEbailey), to talk about the first Darrin/Endora interaction! Robby lives for "Harpie's Bizarre." Austin feels very strongly about baseball. Neither of them can remember the names of Samantha's neighbors, despite the fact that Austin had it in his notes the whole time (They're Jane and Shirley).  Follow Nose Twitch on Twitter: @nosetwitch

  • 002: Be It Ever So Mortgaged

    07/03/2017 Duración: 56min

We're still talking about Bewitched on this Bewitched fan cast. You'd be amazed. On this episode, Austin and writer Robby Bailey (@robBEbailey) discuss the second episode, "Be It Ever So Mortgaged." We talk about Agnes Moorehead's opinion of Endora, Gaslight of the Century Gladys Kravitz, and the year that "The Brady Bunch" came out. Follow Nose Twitch on Twitter: @nosetwitch

  • 001: I, Darrin, Take This Witch, Samantha

    28/02/2017 Duración: 31min

Once upon a time, there was a typical American boy who happened to start a podcast about a typical American sitcom. Welcome to Nose Twitch! We're reviewing the first episode of Bewitched.
