I grew up in 1970s era Nova Scotia where hundreds of kids (me included) hitchhiked on roads big and small. The image is iconic, a sentimental picture of a simpler time brought to vivid life in “Weirdos,” Bruce McDonald and Daniel MacIvor's sweet new coming of age story. Jamie Kastner's documentary "The Skyjacker's Tale" tells the story of Ishmael Muslim Ali an American convicted of murdering eight people in the US Virgin Islands who hijacked an American Airlines plane full of passengers to Cuba on New Years Eve 1984, and got away with it.
