Episode 42 – Fourth of July Special – Yakuza Apocalypse Commentary Track WARNING: This is not a normal podcast episode. This is a running commentary for the 2015 film Yakuza Apocalypse. Additional content warning: Yakuza Apocalypse is an incredibly dumb, fun, silly movie, but unfortunately it has a pretty brutal rape scene early on, so just be aware if you're watching the film for the first time. Hank invites Ben on a journey to watch one of his favorite films. Armed only with the knowledge that this is a movie about Yakuza Vampires, Ben goes in blind and unprepared for what happens here. This movie is pretty wild and incredibly stupid. Correction: When listing other movies that Takashi Miike, the director of Yakuza Apocalypse, has directed Hank accidentally said the title Lady Vengeance, which is a Park Chan-wook film. Episode 32 – Digimon Adventure 02 This week we dive into the Digimon sequel series that takes place is the future of 2002. It's... not good. But Hank has affection for it and Ben didn't remember as much as he thought and was super done with it almost immediately so... that's not the usual dynamic at least. They go through the numerous problems and flaws of the series, why it doesn't work and what the Dub does to the material.
