Sinopsis

This is the Trace. Here you will take part in conversations on art, culture, and world events all rooted in the year of the guests birth. We get into the personal and the political here so beware; all of those things that we are told not to talk about are on the table here. Who is it that doesnt want us talking about sex, politics, and religion anyways? Here we will talk openly about all of those topics and more. I am Andrew Thomas Hackett. Welcome to The Trace.

  • S2 E22 - Protests, Quarantine, Hope

    04/06/2020 Duración: 41min

I was so upset by Donald Trump's profane use of the Bible as a symbol of fascist authoritarianism that I felt the need to record an response to it.  The idea that Trump connects the Bible, and Christianity, to his hateful view of the world is absurd.  Trump exposes the biblical illiteracy that plagues Christians across America.  If only they actually took the words of Jesus seriously!

    18/09/2019 Duración: 52min

This is my first installment of an idea I have wanted to do for a while: a deconstruction of a famous Bible story.  In this case it's Psalm 23.  I go through the text looking at the original language and searching for other possible readings.  Keep an open mind as you listen!
