Sinopsis

A 40-something artist, writer and musician shares his musings about life and the endless quest for contentment. Recorded on the road or while hiking through the wilderness of Southern Ontario, Chub Creek features great indie music, original sketch comedy and a great visit. Chub Creek is one of the earliest Canadian podcasts, and was considered by some to be a pioneer in the genre.

The BIG REVEAL. To find what exactly WHAT HAPPENED at the end of episode 144, go to www.chubcreek.com and click on episode 145 and see the photo for yourself. Or if you’re already here, you can see it above. Crazy right? Music this week was “Hectic Zeniths” from Type One Era (feat. careful). Here’s the cute rabbit video. Here’s a version of the Myers-Briggs personality test you can do yourself. My results were INTP. Here’s Gary’s Toaster Song. Thanks to Marie for hosting the Dink Dolls and Terrie for her cat Charlie’s Crazy Cat sounds. And thanks to Brenda Dayne of Cast-On. More photos below:

  • Chub Creek 144 - Don’t be a Dink

    02/06/2013 Duración: 01h18min

Back for some chatter, badly repressed anger, Mom and Dad, Monarchs, Moths, fireworks, dinosaurs, Hobbits, and a cliffhanger. Thanks especially to my new friend Sam Van Dyke for his song “Don’t Bet On Me”. You can also check him out on Youtube.

  • Chub Creek 143 - Kitchen Elves

    19/05/2013 Duración: 01h13min

Mostly noisy. Basically I recorded my Mom and Dad trashing my kitchen and making it awesome again. Thanks to you both, I wouldn’t have a clue without you. Also thanks for audio contributions this week from Yuka, Terrie, Toni, Doug, Siri, and Cindy. Thanks to Modo Stare for their track “Summit”. It’s available for free download at SoundCloud.

  • Chub Creek 142 - You Are You

    12/05/2013 Duración: 01h04min

A double trek today, starting out at a segment of the Bruce Trail out near Georgetown, following the lovely Credit River, then later a peaceful and introspective chat from Terra Cotta conservation area. Thanks to Ken for being my muse this week, you are an inspiration for those of us stuttering idiots who can’t say anything real. Big love and thanks to Mom and Dad for joining me on my hike and letting me record their every word, and again, Happy Mother’s day all of the various mommas out there, and especially to my dear mom, Patty. You are truly you. Music this week was “Frightened” by Easter Island, downloaded from One Track Mind.

Spring has finally arrived on the banks of Chub Creek. Yay! Join me for a peaceful walk along Fallbrook Trail near Georgetown Ontario. • Chub Creek 140 - God Lord

    21/04/2013 Duración: 01h38min

Settle in because it’s a long one. Join me, the kids, my folks, donkeys, asses, goats, pigs, The Toronto Blue Jays, the Toronto Subway and much more in this extended edition of Chub Creek. Special thanks to Bosco Delray for their track “Evil Lives (Ad Rock Remix)” and to Digitalism for theirs: “2 Hearts”. Please support these artist by visiting them online and buying their tunes.

  • Chub Creek 139 - Mink Squeak

    24/03/2013 Duración: 37min

In the slightly short but terrifying episode we feature still more adventures with deadly and dangerous Canadian wild creatures. If you can BEAR it, come along as we pass under massive soaring black crows, cower under the deafening wail of the Canadian Goose, spelunk in caves that may or not contain hibernating bears and dangerous falling overhead rocks, discover the cold loving “Ice Pawns” and narrowly escape the rabbit devouring, squeaking mink. Musical selection today was a beautiful performance of approximately two out of the “Four Short Pieces for Solo Double Bass” by DaXun Zhang.

  • Chub Creek 138 - Pass The Mango Peach

    17/03/2013 Duración: 01h07min

A great little trek (okay not little - our legs were killing us after) at Mono Cliffs trail in the snow with my folks, and some fun soundseeing at a local diner where we spoiled our supper together. You couldn’t really hear it, but just to give them credit, the music at the very beginning was “Know Til Now” by Jim James, and “Climbing Walls” by Strange Talk. The obnoxious (not really) song later on was “Sod in the Seed” by Why? Enjoy :)
