When a demon possessed boy couldn’t be healed by the disciples, his father’s faith began to struggle as doubt crept in. In spite of that, Jesus still healed the boy of his condition. Even if we struggle with our faith, God can still work in our lives, despite any doubts we may have. 

When Jesus took Peter, James, and John up a mountain, they experienced a glimpse of God’s glory as Jesus’s appearance was transformed and God spoke to them. When we have similar experiences, they should cause us to grow closer to the Lord and become more like Him.

After Peter’s revelation that Jesus is the Messiah, Jesus explained the suffering He would face, as well as the cost of following Him. We must be willing to deny ourselves and endure hardship now, but in exchange for that, we’ll gain eternal life. Will you follow Him?

Jesus’ healing of the blind man fulfilled an Old Testament prophecy about who the Messiah would be and was done to open the disciples’ spiritual eyes to who Jesus is. What do you see? Are your eyes open to who Jesus is?
