    99 percent of Europe’s residents live in light polluted environments. In Luxembourg, the most polluted areas are the ones in the south and around the capital. But even in the rural north, light pollution is a problem - for animals and humans. Last year, the Nature Park Our completed an EU-funded project on light pollution – together with other European regions. Johannesburg is a city of over 14 million residents making it the Largest City in South Africa. When it comes to Music, Johannesburg has birthed some of South Africa’s most famous musicians including the likes of Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela, Dave Matthews, Letta Mbulu, Johnny Kleg, Mandoza and countless others. This episode focuses on the development of popular dance music forms from the 1960s right up to the present day to have come mainly out of the townships of Johannesburg and in particular one called Soweto.     Luxembourg Under Destruction is an organisation that campaigns for better protection of Luxembourg's architectural heritage. Their petition has currently received just over 50% of the required signatures for it to be considered in parliament with just under 2200 more signatures required before the deadline is reached in 16 days. The petition calls for the government to install a moratorium on the destruction of histroic buildings and introduce better regulation on the protection of Luxembourg's buildings and monuments. Sandra Latanik from the organisation joined Tom on The Breakfast Show this morning to talk about it. According to Sandra there has been very little regard paid to conserving the beauty of Luxembourg's architectural identity through the protection of old buildings. Instead, many are torn down and replaced with modern appartement blocks that do not integrate into the traditional landscape and take away from the beauty of Luxembourgish towns and villages.     Kids Life Skills run workshops for children aged 4-13 in teaching the essential skills of modern technology including logical thinking, problem solving, creativity, team work and entrepreneurship. This morning Ronen Evan Tzur, founder of Kids Life Skills joined Tom on The Breakfast Show to talk about the organization and what they have coming up. Kids Life Skills was started by Ronen when he realised there was a lack of educational offerings in technology in Luxembourg for children of a young age. What started as some informal playful lessons with his own children and children of friends developed into a professional organization when Ronen was inspired by his daughter's reactions to the lessons. At Kids Life Skills, children learn to work with technology through fun and interactive learning games, being encouraged to use their creativity to solve problems. Workshops last 2-3 hours depending on age groups, take place on a weekly basis and are taught in English and French. Workshops generally cost €12.50

Patricia Abdelnour joined us this morning to talk about their activities and take a look ahead at their fundraising concert that is taking palce at Trifolion in Echternach in March. Mir wëllen Iech Ons Heemecht Weisen (we want to show you our heritage) create informal moments of exchange through intercultural events and workshops for refugees to get to know locals and vice versa. From cooking workshops to museum visits, their meet ups provide space for cultural dialogue and exchange and building new friendships as well as helping refugees to integrate into society in Luxembourg.
