Wisdom in the Desert: Intensifying my Hunger for Holiness
23/02/2026 Duración: 17minIn a surprising turn of events, Julien opened up our new series with Lectio365. During the Season of Lent we'll be joining with other 24-7 Prayer churches worldwide to explore scripture and the witness of the Desert Fathers and Mothers. Foolish Wisdom:... Of the Jesus-centered life
09/02/2026 Duración: 47minOn Sunday, John-Mark continued our series "Foolish Wisdom: A Study in First Corinthians." Paul's first letter to the Christians in the city of Corinth contains his thoughts on the good news of Jesus as God's "foolish wisdom." Paul's radical faith in the crucified Saviour challenges its hearers in the 1st and 21st Centuries. What insight and encouragement might we gain from "listening in" to Paul's five "essays" as we think about responding to the challenges of our own time: both within the Church and in Western culture? The Mission Has a Church: The Mission has a Method
05/10/2025 Duración: 36minOn Sunday, Pastor J-M continued our series "The Mission Has A Church Pt. II." Churches in North America (and the West more generally) have been in a period of decline for many years. The wider culture continues the project of secularism - the adoption of new ways of thinking, believing and being that are pointedly not Christian. How should Christians respond to these widespread cultural changes? Rather than reacting with fear (that leads to either fighting the culture or fleeing from it), another hopeful option is available: the recovery of the Mission of God as a way to understand the Trinity, the Bible, the Church, our relationship to culture and the nature of Christian justice and witness. Join us as we unpack the helpful ways a recovery of a missional perspective invites us into the work God is already doing in the world. To visit our Teaching Notes: https://stclair.substack.com/
