Special thanks to Ashlinn Gallagher for creating a beautiful space to explore the sonic sounds of this live set. Lushpod #38 - The Uncanny ValleyLushpod #38 - The Uncanny Valley is the hypothesis that human replicas that appear almost but not exactly like real human beings elicits feelings of eeriness and revulsion among some observers. The valley denotes a deep in the human observer's affinity for the replica, a relation that otherwise increases with the replica's human likeness. The set was recorded live at PPP at the 3rd Annual Crab Feast & Pool Purdy. LP38 features tracks from Purple Disco Machine, Matthias Meyer, Christoph, YokoO, The Golden Pony, and Human Machine.

Lushpod #37 - Beyond TulumBeyond Tulum is inspired by my adventures in the jungles of Tulum, Mexico. I recorded sounds of the jungle and layered it sporadically throughout the set. There were different versions of how this podcast was going to manifest itself, but eventually I settle with sounds of the land and its people. Thank you to David and Jilly for allowing us to be apart of their nuptials. This was a truly mind altering experience. Lushpod #36 - Fond FarewellThe lushpods have become a sort of sonic diary for me over the years. The past two weeks I have experienced the loss of two amazing people in my lives. Two lives that were influential in my development as a DJ. Inspired by the Elliott Smith track, I wanted to honor both of these beings in a 3 hour audio meditation. Thank you Erin and Nicholas.

Lushpod #35 - Strange TransmissionsLushpod #35 is a departure from the typical sound explored in Lushpods. It was recorded in various occasions that I no longer remember when and where the pieces come together. Strange Transmissions is heavily influenced by the discovery of an old iPod that I had 10 years ago. So a lot of the songs and sounds are derived from that era. LP #35 features tracks from The Smiths, Nu, RJD2, Regina Spektor, Citadel, Drumtalk, Wondr, Suuns, Smog, and James.

Lushpod #34 - Your Heart is a Muscle the Size of a FistCelebrating the 3 Year Anniversary of the Lushpod this mix was recorded live in front of a studio audience at Oddville in Downtown Los Angeles. Deeply influenced by nature and humanity, this mix ruminates the ever-changing nature of life. It also honors some artists have passed away recently. This set features tracks from LCD Soundsystem, Ryuchi Sakamoto, Volac, Dubshape, Fat Sushi, Natema, Younotus, and Bob Moses.

Sound & Vision - A Bowie Tribute David Bowie was an artist who could construct identities and embody them so convincingly, then deconstruct them and move on so quickly, because he knew that makeup and costumes and backstories and sexual proclivities were above all a tantalizing way to put across ideas that are more difficult to convey through pop music than through perhaps any other artistic medium. This live set was recorded live at Parallel Universe in Los Angeles in conjunction with After Dark.

Lushpod #33 - Just the Tip, But Deeper Lushpod #33 was recorded live at the After Dark Party on November 14, 2015 in downtown Los Angeles. LP33 evolved in so many different ways and aspects, and previous attempts to record it left me dissatisfied. After some serious considerations, this current recording stands as its best form. This mix is a return to more spacial and melodic sounds with middle eastern influences. I hope you like it. LP 33 features tracks from Hundreds, Bedouin, Noir, Betoko, Sabo, Brothomstates, Eton Messy, and Josh Butler.

Lushpod #32 - ApogeeLushpod #32 is the second part of the two part series gifted to all the burners heading up to Burning Man 2015. This set was partially recorded at the Golden Box in Hollywood. Apogee is the furthest point the moon is to the earth. LP32 features tracks from Tracey Thorn, Nick Curly, Jose Gonzalez, Monkey Safari, Maceo Plex, and Luca Bacchetti.

Lushpod #31 - PerigeeLushpod #31 is part 1 of a 2 part Burning Man Lushpod. Perigee is the closest point to that the moon is in relation to the earth. This 3 hour podcast features a slower deeper selection of tracks. It's meant for steady contemplation and meditation. LP31 includes snippets of a 1995 ABC News Special about Burning Man. This lushpod features the music of Underworld, The Mole, Frankey & Sandrino, Gorje Hewek, Matthew Dekay, Oh Wonder, Boards of Canada, Yoko0, Adriatique, and Audiofly.

Lushpod #30 - From CarcosaCarcosa is a fictional city in the Ambrose Bierce short story "An Inhabitant of Carcosa". Carcosa has been used in various science fiction novels from HP Lovecraft and Robert Chambers, to True Detective and Game of Thrones. Carcosa represents our physical detachment from our surroundings. The Carcosa story is simply a way of describing what it means to be trapped in the same story that you've told yourself over and over again. From Carcosa was primarily recorded during sunrise at Woogie Weekend to celebrate Alex K.'s birthday. As security shut-down our sound, I was able to complete only 2.5 hours of the intended recording. The last 30 minutes was recorded at home. LP30 features tracks from Art Department, Boards of Canada, War on Drugs, Ramzoid, Daniel Dubb, Damien Lazarus, Eli Escobar, Oscar L, and Bicep.

Lushpod #29 - Fog & VoidFog & Void is the culmination of my exploration of San Francisco during the past two months.  With warm hearts and amazing new friendships established, it wasn't hard to fall in love with this beautiful city. Fog & Void is my love letter to San Francisco. It is, in my little way, a thank you to everyone who have welcome me so openly and lovingly over the years.
