It's time to take the podcast back to the Yautja's in the latest film in the Predator universe! Markiplier is undoubtedly one of the top performers on the Youtube platform right now, and he decided to fund his own film, Iron Lung! This is of course based off of his popular video game, of the same name.  " Iron Lung (2026) is a sci-fi horror film written, directed by, and starring Mark "Markiplier" Fischbach, based on the 2022 game. It follows a convict named Simon tasked with piloting a claustrophobic submarine through an ocean of blood on a desolate moon, searching for clues following a catastrophe known as the "Quiet Rapture" Now, to be frank, I will say that I believe that most of the high viewer rating comes from those fans of his who are already familiar with who he is, and what his style of performance is like. " The X-Files Season 1 (1993–1994) establishes FBI agents Fox Mulder (a believer) and Dana Scully (a skeptic) investigating unsolved paranormal cases. Over 24 episodes, they battle government cover-ups, alien abduction themes, and "Monster of the Week" threats, culminating in the X-Files being closed and their partnership" The truth might still be out there for this show, and there were ten more seasons after this in order to establish itself as one of the most iconic sci-fi shows to ever be released! Marvel is back at it with something much different from what they've been putting on TV lately. This is a much bigger departure than previous shows and it seems to be popular with the crowd! " Marvel's Wonder Man (2026) is a grounded, Hollywood-satire series under the Marvel Spotlight banner, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, a struggling actor with latent, unstable ionic superpowers. The plot follows Simon’s journey to fame while navigating a film industry that prejudices against superpowered individuals, often teaming up with a returning Trevor Slattery." I do not think that this is our cup of tea because it is SO different from what we're used to, and it doesn't seem to tie into any of universe at large. For those people who don't like the current vision this might be exactly what you're looking for, but I'm not sure what everyone else will think. Going back a couple of years to talk about the newest iteration in the Ghostbuster franchise! The "classic" characters come back and join forces with the new young crew in Frozen Empire! "The Spengler family returns to the iconic New York City firehouse where the original Ghostbusters have taken ghost-busting to the next level. When the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must unite to protect their home and save the world from a second ice age." I think that one of us is more accepting of this move than the other person haha! We were both excited for it to come out, but not sure that it held up to all of the hype that came with the reintroduction of all of the classic characters from the Ghostbusters of old! But, it's still a passable movie, and you should still make sure that, if somehow, you haven't seen it now, that you go rent it, or buy it in order to close out your Ghostbusters itch! We are going pretty far back with today's pop culture classic! So far back but it's crazy to think that a new sequel actually just came out! That speaks to the staying power of this series. "The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, Rick Grimes and Michonne are reunited after years apart when Michonne finds him held captive by the Civil Republic Military (CRM). They face internal struggles and CRM threats, ultimately working together to expose the CRM's unethical and manipulative "reclamation" practices. After defeating the CRM, Rick and Michonne leave the Civic Republic and return to their children in Alexandria, finally reuniting as a family and achieving their goal of truly "living" rather than just surviving" I think we were both pleasantly surprised by how this series ended even though it probably means the end of the Rick and Michonne Era. I think the both of us were very surprised how well this movie holds up! I didn't watch any of the urges so I wouldn't be distracted by the others, but this first iteration was so good, and you should definitely trajectory the time to watch it if you haven't yet! If you didn't know who Slappy was when you were growing up, somehow you few up without Goosebumps, which is quite a shame!! RL Stine filled most of our young lives with scary, but not too scary, and goofy types of campfire stories!! The first reiteration of Goosebumps as a TV show was anthology based and was very close to the books! "Goosebumps season 1, which is a darker, more mature take on the classic horror series, tells a single, continuous story across 10 episodes. It revolves around  group of high school friends who uncover a haunted house's dark secrets and their parents' connection to it, leading to the unleashing of a malevolent force upon their town. The season features elements from various R.L. Stine books, including "Night of the Living Dummy," but doesn't directly adapt their plots." It's not perfect, but I think that it blends the anthology story pretty well with it's source material, in a way that tells individual stories well and tells a bigger story at the same time! You know that we absolutely love Kaiju! With that in mind we are always talking about anything Godzilla related. Not only does Monarch have Godzilla, but it also brings along a whole host of awesome giant monsters! "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters" follows two siblings, Cate and Tim Randa, as they uncover a family legacy connected to the secretive organization Monarch. This journey takes them through different timelines, including the 1950s and the aftermath of Godzilla's attack on San Francisco, revealing buried secrets and the impact of epic events on their family. The series also delves into the world of monsters and the ways in which Monarch is threatened by what their father, Lee Shaw, knows." The cool thing is that not only does this universe include Godzilla and King Kong but it gives the fans hope that we can dip our toes into the world of some other monsters with maybe a future movie in the cards if those other monsters gain traction! Back at it, talking about a remake of a beloved movie, Road House! Many people booed the decision to remake this movie when the announcement was made, but, while not perfect, we think that they turned out a decent film. It might not have the nostalgia of the original but there are still many things to like about this remake! "Ex-UFC fighter Dalton takes a job as a bouncer at a Florida Keys roadhouse, only to discover that this paradise is not all it seems." Not only do we talk about the film, but we have a pretty lengthy discussion about the UFC itself, as well as many other competitive sports. It follows a conservative lady going through her nightly deliveries during COID while all hell breaks loose! "It stars Annie Hardy, Amer Chadha-Patel, and Angela Enahoro, and follows a semi-fictionalized version of Hardy who leaves Los Angeles for a surprise visit to her former bandmate in London during the COVID-19 pandemic, only to find herself in a series of nightmarish events after agreeing to escort a strange elderly woman to a secret location in her friend's car." It's time to go to 2013 with a young Charlie Hunnam, and a Guillermo Del Toro who said that he laid everything out in this film, and it was just him having fun! It's pop culture classic time, speaking about Pacific Rim! Pacific Rim, while not being the "first" American made kaiju film, was probably the first blockbuster American kaiju film that took the genre more serious, and paid a lot more tribute than others in the past. "Long ago, legions of monstrous creatures called Kaiju arose from the sea, bringing with them all-consuming war. To fight the Kaiju, mankind developed giant robots called Jaegers, designed to be piloted by two humans locked together in a neural bridge. Today's episode was a suggestion from Doyle. When I first heard him talk about it, I took it much to literal, and thought I'd be watching something about Usher, the singer. Instead, I got something WAY better. We are talking about the Netflix series, The Fall of the House of Usher!  "Siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher have built a pharmaceutical company into an empire of wealth, privilege and power; however, secrets come to light when the heirs to the Usher dynasty start dying." This mini series is adapted from an Edgar Allen Poe novel, and it is SO good! There is a lot to the story, some creepy twists and turns, as well as some to e where you will have to hold back tears. Are you ready for another round of Pet Sematary? Stephen King films have been very hit and miss, and this project is probably no different. You're either going to love it, or you're going to hate it, I don't think there is an in between. "In 1969, a young Jud Crandall dreams of leaving his hometown of Ludlow, Maine behind, but soon discovers sinister secrets buried within. Jud is forced to confront a dark family history that will forever keep him connected to Ludlow." One of us was half a fan, and the other didn't really seem to like it all that much. It has some really cool scenes, but also some things that don't make much sense. As always, you should definitely go watch it in order to decide for yourself. With most of these Stephen King projects, it's pretty polarizing. It might be time to give these films to established creators, so that we know they're in good hands. It's pop culture classic time everyone!! In the last episode we spoke about where Saw was, and where it might be going, and now it's time to talk about where it came from! We're talking about the original Saw from 2004, and the place in horror history that it has left on the populous! "The film tells a nonlinear narrative revolving around the mystery of the Jigsaw Killer, who tests his victims' will to live by putting them through deadly "games" where they must inflict great physical pain upon themselves to survive." That twist at the end was something that hadn't been seen, and might be one of the best endings to a horror movie to date. You might not like the sequels that have spawned, but the original is great! It's been a while since a new Saw movie came out, and even longer since one came out that was pretty well received and had Jigsaw as the primary character. This is a prequel in which we found out a lot about how Jigsaw became Jigsaw, and the motivations behind why. We are talking about Saw X! "Hoping for a miraculous cure, John Kramer travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure, only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Armed with a newfound purpose, the infamous serial killer uses deranged and ingenious traps to turn the tables on the con artists." If you're a horror fan and have maybe jumped off the Saw bandwagon, I think you should definitely consider watching this entry in the series. It won't disappoint and it may actually reinvigorate. Listen, we enjoy The Boys as much as probably the average viewer. We don't hate it, but we also don't fawn all over it. Sometimes it can be way over the top, even for us, and that says a lot. BUT we had to watch the spin-off just in case this was more our cup of tea. We sat down in order to watch Gen V. "Gen V is an American superhero television series, developed by Craig Rosenberg, Evan Goldberg, and Eric Kripke, serving as a spin-off of The Boys by Kripke, and based on The Boys comic book story arc "We Gotta Go Now" by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The series stars Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, and Shelley Conn in main roles." It is interesting and different enough for the spin-off, but if you're looking for something at least a little toned down, this still isn't it. I think for the most part, we were all sad when AMC announced that The Walking Dead proper would be coming to an end! Some of those fears were assuaged when it was also announced that there would be a few spin-offs coming, but the more exciting news was who would be starring in those spin-offs. Today we are talking about the Maggie & Negan series, The Dead City! "The series follows Maggie and Negan traveling into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan cut off from the mainland in search of Maggie's kidnapped son, Hershel. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror." Summer of 2023 was a pretty crazy time when it came to today's topic! Somehow this movie got intertwined with the Barbie movie, and though I'm not 100% sure why this happened, it was such a fine time for the movie industry! I don't want to say that Barbie made Oppenheimer the film that it was, but it definitely didn't hurt, and Oppenheimer is a killer good movie as well!! "During World War II, Lt. Gen.
