That's what Senator-elect Kevin Cramer said on my radio show today when asked by a listener if he'd keep a campaign promise to address federal policy with regard to marijuana. Cramer has said consistently that he'd like to move the issue out of the sphere of federal policy and squarely into the domain of the states. "Schedule 1 is not the place for marijuana," he said, referring to the federal drug scheduling system. Congressman-elect Kelly Armstrong was also on the show. I asked him how he was going to handle a new Democratic majority, some factions of which have said they want to impeach President Donald Trump. "I'm going to fight them," Armstrong said, adding that he hopes "cooler heads prevail."

He says holding on to control of the House is possible for Republicans. "If you vote I think we can hold the House by one or two seats," he said, adding that he feels Republicans have "broken the back of this blue wave. State Auditor Josh Gallion also joined to talk about his opposition to Measure 1, a constitutional amendment creating an ethics commission and new restrictions on political activities. "We have to stop treating our constitution like a playground for out of state interests," he said adding that over 90 percent of the contributions to the Measure 1 campaign are from out of state.

16/10/2018 Duración: 01h13minSenator Heidi Heitkamp appeared on the radio show today for the first time ever and apologized for a recent campaign ad which named sexual assault victims without their permission. Also, some of the women named in the ad said they are not victims. "All I can say is at the end of the day when I put my head on the pillow I know that I caused hurt...this was incompetent. This was wrong," Heitkamp said. "This should have never happened." Asked if she felt her campaign had any legal liability for naming these women, Heitkamp said she wasn't sure. "Some people who are lawyers would say the worst thing you can do if you're worried about lawsuits is admit culpability or negligence and I'm admitting it right here," she said. "This is a very flagrant error of the campaign and I own it." Eve Lancaster, one of the women wrongly named in the ad, also was also on the show. "I had no idea what this open letter was open. I'm not even into politics," she said. "I had nothing to do with this and I saw that my name was on there
