Theme: Following Christ Unreservedly Main Points: There are many excuses for not following Christ Jesus wasn’t looking for fans, he was looking for followers Jesus wants people who will walk in his footsteps regardless of circumstances

Theme: Providence of God Main Points: Does God manipulate circumstances in our lives to accomplish God’s will? Whatever our circumstance, if we follow God’s leading, we can be used in marvelous ways.

Theme: Judging others Main Points: Our love for God may be tepid because we’ve never really thought of ourselves as sinners and hungered for forgiveness. The Self-righteous are just as sinful as the overt sinner. Our job is to love people and leave the judging to God.

Theme: Trust Main Points: Trust for other people and institutions are at an all time low. Many in the early Church did not trust Paul It took time for Paul to earn people’s trust. The way to earn trust is to live a Christ-like life

Theme: We are God’s flock Main Points: Jesus knows his flock individually Jesus’ sheep listen to his voice Jesus’ sheep follow him. No one can snatch Jesus’ sheep from him.

Main Points: We have peace through our Lord Jesus Christ We Boast in the Hope of the Glory of God God’s Love is poured into our hearts through God’s Holy Spirit

Theme: Pentecost (Holy Spirit) Main Points: The Holy Spirit fills the void in our lives. The Holy Spirit helps us understand God’s purpose for us. The Holy Spirit gives us power to accomplish God’s purpose for us. The Holy Spirit helps us become all that God created us to be.

Theme: Paul and Silas in prison Main Points: Even in prison their attitude was joyful and filled with praise For the sake of the jailer they didn’t try to escape after the earthquake. The jailer saw their attitude and actions and wanted what they had. That’s how most people come to Christ

Theme: The Ascension of Christ Main Points: Christ’s ascension tells us who Jesus is. (Savior, Lord) Christ’s ascension tells us what we are to do. (Witness to these things). The Ascension shows us where our power for living comes from-Holy Spirit

Theme: Cooperating with the Kingdom of God—Admission of Gentiles into the Church Main Points: There are times we stand in the way of God’s Kingdom? Christians have historically been on the wrong side of progress. God’s Kingdom is at work. We can get on Board. Or we can resist its change. But we can’t stop it.

Theme: What do we learn from Thomas to keep our faith strong. Main Points: Stay in the company of fellow Believers Remember that a locked mind is a bigger obstacle than a locked door Christ wants us to know that we are loved

Theme: Easter Main Points: Surprise is the clearest description of the Disciples reaction to Jesus’ resurrection. Jesus who was dead is alive. Jesus appeared to more than 500 people. Nothing refutes the testimony of those who saw him. In our hearts the spirit of God testifies that he is alive.

Theme: Palm Sunday, Choosing between worldly Kingdom and God’s Kingdom Main Points: The parade of Jesus stands in contrast to the parade of Pilate. The celebration was short-lived, as Christ would soon be rejected by the very ones who welcomed him. There is no pain worse than rejection. At Easter The stone that was rejected will become the cornerstone

Theme: Relationship with God is most important What is the difference between being religious and knowing God? How can we come to know God today?

Theme: Thirsting for God People become spiritually thirsty when they have misplaced values. People become Spiritually thirsty when they betray their values. People are spiritually thirsty when they depend on their own resources

Theme: Christ’s Temptation Temptation is universal With God’s help Temptation is resistible. The key to lessening Temptations hold is to love God.

Theme: Reconciliation Fasting for Lent can be beneficial, but even a good thing like fasting can be abused. The purpose of Lent is to bring us back to God. The need for reconciliation with God acknowledges that we are estranged from God. If we are reconciled with God, we should be reconciled with one another.

Theme: Transfiguration of Christ Jesus felt the need from time to time to go off by himself or with a few friends to pray. In the transfiguration they discovered Christ in all his glory. They saw him in the company of Moses and Elijah. They heard God’s voice say, “This is my son, listen to him.”

Theme: Love If you’re not committed to love, you’ve missed the message of the gospel. Love is the central task of a Christian. Christian love is proactive---it seeks people out who need love.
