If you live or work in Luxembourg City and its surroundings, you too might have thought a plane was crashing down on you…and you wouldn’t be alone: noise pollution caused by the planes taking off and landing at the Findel airport last year alone earned the airport 3,000 complaints from residents and associations. So why do planes fly at such a low altitude over Luxembourg City and what solutions are there to ease the burden on those who circulate in the area? Ara City Radio talked to Enora Hiernaux of the grand duchy’s air navigation administration ANA to discuss this in this week’s episode of Zoom on Luxembourg.

Social media have a proven impact on climate change mitigation efforts--is it a positive or negative impact? Between information overload, climate change deniers and unchecked claims, there is a lot to navigate for those who aren't sure where to start and what to believe. Cesar from Clean Something for Nothing was Tom's second guest of the morning today on the Breakfast Show. He stopped by the studios to talk about the app which he has built to support litter picking communities all over the world and how people can get involved in world clean up day this Saturday in Luxembourg. Cesar was inspired to create Clean Something For Nothing whilst traveling around Europe in a camper van where he experienced that even a small amount of litter picking can go a long way. what started as a viral instagram profile has now developed into an engaging and inspiring app which is building a global community. Users of clean something for nothing can log their trash clean ups and post photos in a similar way to instagram as well as building communities of litter pickers in their local area. Josh Island was back in the studio to talk to Tom and the listeners about his new album and upcoming European Tour. After being awarded the Global Project Fund by Music LX, Josh has had a busy year, recording and touring. The British & Irish Film Festival returns for it's Autumn 2023 edition on the 13th of September. Festival programmer Geoff Thompson sat down with Tom this morning to talk through the programme and let people know what they can expect. The festival will run from the 13th till the 28th of September and feature daily screenings of all genres in Cine Utopia and Cinematheque. On Local Matters, Jean-Jacques Schonkert, president of the Asbl Mäi Wellen Mäi Wee, explains why they keep lobbying for the right to die in dignity, although euthanasia has been legal since 2009.

Since 2009, euthanasia has been legal in Luxembourg. Access however still needs to be improved. The government has recently set up an action plan. Raising awareness about the rights and procedures is the main aim.
