Winter: the season of blistery cold weather full of darkness yet a start to new beginnings. It's been a 18 month hiatus for my mixes due to personal events but I am back to devoting time to my true release in life: Music. Dawn: the first appearance of light in the sky before sunrise. As I envisioned my early start to the morning, I compiled this mix with a tracklist that would be that soundtrack. The first part of the mix starts off with a slew of Melodic / Light Organic House tracks while shifting energy at the 30 min. mark. The middle part brings a bit more energy with some groovy basslines and transitions at 45min with a uplifting track (timing to the first hints of light in the day). The last part shifts to some energetic progressive house tracks while winding down to a calm melodic outro. Hope you enjoy this early morning soundtrack. In spirit of the season, here is my soundtrack / mix to embrace an "almost back to normal" lifestyle: Summer With all my sets, I like to create a smooth ride from start to finish, with carefully chosen tracks (old & new) that work well together. As you get set to listen, there are calculated transitions that shift the mood and energy (similar to a perfect warm-up set). When I first began mixing, I always gravitated towards a deeper / melodic sound while trying to always make sure that each track mixed perfectly together, creating a smooth journey throughout the compilation of songs. As I continue my mixes, I find that the same format and theme keeps repeating itself. Maybe it’s just my way of expressing my deeper thoughts and feelings through music. With that, I introduce a new mix series called: Introspect (Defined: to look into or examine one's own mind, feelings, etc.) This mix (as most of mine) starts with a calm / serene tone and gradually ascends for 60 minutes until reaching a nice plateau of steady progressive house ending with an upbeat punch. 100+ Minutes / 119bpms / a melodic / deep / progressive house set. During this downtime / hiatus.. I am reminded of how important health and the relationships between our loved ones are. Not having that human connection and personal interaction has been truly missed. As we get set to reopen here in Chicago, I am truly in grateful, appreciated, and excited for this Reopening. This mix is just that: An uplifting, energetic, and driving set of progressive house serving as that fresh start. The mix starts off bubbly and carefree and gets progressively stronger until a shift in mood at 50 minutes. There enters another reset and vibe similar to the beginning / a fresh start in “phase 2” of the set.
